Submit your online application through the Edinburgh Direct Portal. No third-party agency needed.

Offer & Matriculation

Receive conditional/unconditional offer from the Senatus Academicus, complete registration, and receive your scholar ID.

Entry Requirements by Level

Undergraduate (MA / BSc Hons)

✓ UK A-Levels (AAA–ABB) or Scottish Highers (AAAAA–AAAB)
✓ International Baccalaureate (IB) 34–38 points overall
✓ US High School Diploma + AP scores (4 or 5 in relevant subjects)
✓ IELTS 6.5+ (minimum 6.0 in each band) or equivalent

Postgraduate Taught (MSc / LLM / MBA)

✓ UK First-Class or 2:1 Honours degree (or international equivalent GPA 3.3+)
✓ Relevant undergraduate subject background for specialized MSc routes
✓ 2 Academic References from previous university lecturers
✓ 500-word Academic Statement of Purpose

Doctoral Research (Ph.D.)

✓ High-merit or distinction Master's degree in related research field
✓ Detailed Ph.D. Research Proposal (1,500–2,500 words)
✓ Identification of proposed Principal Academic Supervisor
✓ Formal interview with School Postgraduate Research Committee
